Best ever breakfast?

Monday morning dawned in Lytham St. Annes so we took a walk into the town to see if I could find someone who could repair my iPhone. We found a shop run by a really nice Asian guy who said it would be fixed within the hour and directed to a restaurant round the corner that did one of the best breakfasts I can remember served by a lovely Icelandic girl. Definitely not your average 'greasy spoon'!

The iPhone was duly collected and I also purchased a protective case for it – total cost £35.

We were soon heading for our next stop at Lyn’s brother’s home in Leyland, not too far away but we did manage to get separated while looking for a garage that took our fuel card. Eventually we met up and set off again to Leyland where true to form we managed to get lost again! I could see Graham’s street but couldn’t find a way in.

We decided to stop and ask directions and a volunteer from the Leyland Motor Museum offered to show the way if he could hitch a ride on Henry. That was when he refused to start (magneto again). 30 minutes later he gave up his protest and fired up as if nothing had happened. In the meantime a passer-by had donated £20 to the cause!

As we suspected, Graham’s house was just a couple of minutes away and we joined Graham, wife Chris and son Matt for afternoon tea in the garden. Henry was put up beside the house but Henrietta couldn’t get up the steep drive without grounding the tow hitch so we parked opposite for the night.

We then set about trying to solve a problem with Graham’s beautiful Mark 2 3.8 Jag. We didn’t get to the bottom of it but eliminated some possibilities. I think Richard could have stayed there for a few days working on the Jag given half a chance!

Christine gave us a wonderful evening meal and I managed to get on the web and send some reports in.

In the light of Paddy’s ‘condition’ I thought it best to sleep in 'Henrietta' for the night with her.
