Welland Steam Fair Day One

Day 8

Friday is ‘auction day’ at Welland Steam Fair so not as busy as it is likely to be over the weekend but we were hopeful that it would be fruitful from a fundraising perspective.

The day started disappointingly as we were given the news that we could no longer set up in our ‘prime’ spot for reasons that we didn’t fully understand so we had to make the best of the situation.

My brother in law, John, was expected in his beautiful Daimler Dart so we would hopefully get a chance of a catch up.

As it turned out, the weather was changeable with wind and rain and because we were facing the wrong way, our awning was in danger of taking off and my amplifier and instruments were in and out of the motorhome constantly. This is one of the problems of holding an event in the shadow of the Malverns and would set the tone for the weekend
